Combine PDF documents in the right order
Use Merge PDF when you already have two or more PDF documents and want one file. This tool combines PDFs locally in your browser. It is not a Word or Excel converter: convert those files to PDF in their original application first.
- Open the tool and choose your PDF files, or drop them into the upload area.
- Review the file list. Use the reorder controls to move each document into its intended position.
- Merge the documents and download the resulting PDF.
- Open the download in a PDF reader and check the first page of each document boundary.
Check the result, not just the download
If one input has three pages and the other has two, the result should have five. Check that landscape pages remain readable and that the order matches your file list. The merger joins whole documents; it does not automatically sort them by the dates printed on the pages.
Keep the original files until you have reviewed the output. Use descriptive filenames such as proposal-and-appendices.pdf rather than replacing the only copy of an important document.
Common problems
A password-protected PDF may need to be unlocked with its correct password first. A damaged PDF may need to be re-exported from its original application. If a large batch exhausts your browser memory, merge smaller groups and then combine those results.
For screenshots or photos, use Images to PDF before merging. For large attachments, review PDF compression after the combined document is complete.
